President Yoweri Museveni hosted famous televangelist Benny Hinn at Nakasero State Lodge on Sunday for a meeting that blended faith, national values, and prayer for Uganda. The gathering brought together spiritual leaders for conversations about Christianity’s impact on Africa and its role in shaping the country’s future.
During their discussion, President Museveni reflected on how Christianity introduced new spiritual concepts to African traditions. “Our people already knew God as Katonda, the Creator,” he said. “But the message of resurrection was something new. The teachings of Jesus about loving God and loving your neighbor brought important change.” The President also shared a personal connection to faith, revealing that one of his daughters serves as a priest.
Pastor Benny Hinn, known for his global healing ministry, spoke about the deeper meaning of life through faith. “Life isn’t just a concept, it’s found in Jesus,” he said. “Whether we talk about plants, animals, or people, true life comes from Him.” His words resonated with the spiritual tone of the meeting, which emphasized Uganda’s identity as a nation rooted in religious values.
The event also included Pastor Robert Kayanja, who thanked Museveni for his support of religious work in Uganda. He praised the President for ensuring security and logistics during Hinn’s visit, calling it a sign of respect for faith leaders. “Your actions show love for the Church, for Jesus, and for this nation,” Kayanja told Museveni.
The meeting closed with prayers for Uganda’s leadership and its people. Pastor Hinn led a spiritual blessing for the First Family and the country’s future, followed by an exchange of gifts symbolizing unity and shared hopes for national progress.
This gathering highlights the continuing relationship between Uganda’s government and religious communities, particularly in discussions about moral guidance and national development. As the country faces various challenges, such moments of reflection underscore the role faith plays in shaping public life and leadership vision.
The presence of an internationally recognized preacher like Benny Hinn also points to Uganda’s place in global spiritual conversations, reinforcing the President’s frequent emphasis on faith as part of the nation’s foundation. With prayers offered and ideas shared, the meeting at Nakasero State Lodge served as both a spiritual encounter and a statement about the values guiding Uganda’s path forward.
