Police Offer UGX 50 Million for Clues in Entebbe Couple’s Murder

The Uganda Police Force is asking for the public’s help in solving the brutal killing of a married couple in Entebbe earlier this month. Mr. Mutaaga David and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga, were murdered on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in what authorities believe was a targeted attack.

Police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma confirmed that investigators are working with other security agencies to track down those responsible. A key piece of evidence in the case is a recording of the suspect’s voice, which police hope someone in the community will recognize. “We urge anyone who thinks they know this person to come forward immediately,” Kituuma said.

To encourage people to share information, the police have announced a reward of fifty million shillings (UGX 50,000,000) for any tip that leads to the arrest of the killer. Authorities are pleading with the public to assist in any way possible, no matter how small the detail may seem.

The murders have left the Entebbe community in shock, with friends and neighbors struggling to understand why the couple was targeted. The Mutaagas were well-known in the area, and their sudden deaths have raised concerns about safety. Local leaders have called for calm while urging residents to cooperate with law enforcement.

Police have not yet revealed possible motives for the killings but say they are exploring all leads. Detectives are reviewing security camera footage, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing forensic evidence to piece together what happened.

Anyone with information that could help solve the case is asked to call the police hotline at +256-769 675 918. Authorities have assured callers that their identities will be protected if they wish to remain anonymous.

The police emphasize that public cooperation is crucial in cases like this, where suspects may try to hide in plain sight. With the community’s help, investigators hope to quickly bring the killers to justice and provide some comfort to the grieving family.

As the search continues, the Mutaagas’ relatives are left waiting for answers. Friends describe the couple as kind and hardworking, making their violent deaths even more difficult to accept. Many are hoping the reward will encourage someone with vital information to break their silence.

For now, the police remain determined to solve this case and send a strong message that such crimes will not go unpunished. The UGX 50 million reward is a rare move, showing just how seriously authorities are taking this investigation.

If you know anything, whether it’s about the suspect’s voice, their whereabouts, or any suspicious activity around the time of the murders, police urge you to come forward. Your call could be the key to solving this heartbreaking case.
