Renowned evangelist and founder of the Miracle Centre Cathedral, Pastor Robert Kayanja, has urged Ugandans to open their hearts and minds to change as the country prepares for the upcoming “Mega Gospel and Leadership Convention,” set to take place from November 12 to 16, 2025. Speaking passionately during a press briefing at the Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral, Pastor Kayanja said the gathering is not just another religious event but a transformative platform designed to build ethical leaders, inspire development, and strengthen the nation’s spiritual foundation.
The convention, he explained, will draw local and international leaders from various sectors to share insights on governance, innovation, and community transformation. “This is a time for us to unite, learn, and grow together,” he said. “The convention is about empowering Ugandans with leadership, development, and spiritual growth skills that can change not just individuals, but entire communities.”
One of the most anticipated guests is Dr. Paula White-Cain, the spiritual adviser to former U.S. President Donald Trump, who will headline the event as the main speaker. Known for her strong advocacy for faith-driven leadership, Dr. White-Cain is expected to inspire participants to apply biblical principles in building resilient and visionary communities. The event will also feature prominent figures from the military, business, and political spheres, underscoring its broad focus on leadership and nation-building.
In a development that has sparked national excitement, Pastor Kayanja confirmed that President Yoweri Museveni will attend the convention. The President is expected to address pastors, business leaders, and local government officials on strategies to accelerate development and fight poverty through initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM). “We often see the President teaching about programs like the PDM on television. I requested him to come and speak to us directly—and he graciously accepted,” Pastor Kayanja said with a smile.
Adding to the event’s significance, President Museveni is also expected to officially launch a modern airfield located within the church premises, a project Pastor Kayanja described as a testament to Uganda’s growing spirit of innovation. “This airfield will demonstrate that development is not limited to certain regions. It’s possible everywhere in Uganda if we work together,” he emphasized. The facility is expected to boost connectivity and provide a tangible symbol of progress for the faith community and beyond.
The five-day event promises to be a blend of inspiration, technology, and empowerment. Among the international speakers will be Major General Daniel York, Commander of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 76th Division, who will lead a session on integrity and ethical leadership. Other sessions will explore how emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be harnessed to improve healthcare, communication, and infrastructure development across the country. “We want Ugandans to understand that faith and innovation can work hand in hand,” Pastor Kayanja noted. “God has given us the tools of the modern world to make life better for everyone.”
The convention is expected to draw participants from over 30 countries, positioning Uganda as a growing hub for spiritual renewal and leadership training in the region. Delegates will include pastors, educators, entrepreneurs, government leaders, and community influencers, all united by a shared goal of transforming society through collaboration and faith-based principles. On Saturday, the program will feature a special business seminar focused on entrepreneurship and international trade, with proceeds going toward development projects in Karamoja.
Security preparations are already underway to ensure the safety of the thousands expected to attend. Pastor Kayanja assured the public that every necessary measure has been taken for a peaceful and organized event. He urged participants to cooperate with security teams and avoid bringing prohibited items. “We want a safe, inspiring, and unifying experience for everyone,” he said. “This is not just a church gathering, it’s a movement for national empowerment.”
Closing his address, Pastor Kayanja called on Ugandans to embrace a mindset of progress and unity as the nation stands at a defining moment. “This is a time for Ugandans to rise together, to believe in ourselves, and to think beyond limits,” he said. “Change begins with how we think, how we lead, and how we treat one another. If we come together, there’s nothing this nation cannot achieve.”
As the countdown to November 12 begins, anticipation is building across the country. The Mega Gospel and Leadership Convention is expected to ignite a renewed spirit of purpose and transformation, leaving a lasting mark on both the spiritual and developmental landscape of Uganda.
